Pro Football Hall of Fame Running Back, Speaker, and Entrepreneur

Emmitt Smith is a Pro Football Hall of Famer, three-time Super Bowl Champion, a successful entrepreneur and widely known as one of the greatest players to ever play in the NFL. Over his legendary 15-season NFL career, Smith shattered many records that still stand today, including leading the league in all-time rushing yards and rushing touchdowns. After three Super Bowl championship and eight Pro Bowl selections, Smith was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2010, and in 2019 was selected to the NFL 100 All-Time Team, a prestigious list honoring the best players of the NFL’s first 100 years.

Smith spent 13 seasons as the cornerstone of the Dallas Cowboys offense after being selected in the first round of the 1990 NFL Draft. He became the first and only player in NFL history to rush for more than 1,000 yards in 11 consecutive seasons and on October 27, 2002 he surpassed Walter Payton as the NFL’s all-time leading rusher, a title he still holds today.

After his playing days, Smith has continued to blaze new trails from his role as a football analyst to winning Season 3 of ABC’s hit show Dancing with the Stars, during which he was dubbed “the king of effortless cool.” He also added author to his list of accomplishments, publishing Game On, which outlines the life principles that powered his success both on and off the field.

Now an influential entrepreneur, Smith leads a diverse business portfolio spanning real estate, construction, technology, and hospitality. One of his recent ventures is Emmitt’s Vegas, his first-ever restaurant which opened in March 2024.  In less than a year of its opening, the modern steakhouse earned two OpenTable Diners’ Choice Awards and quickly became a go-to destination for locals and tourists. As one of the few Black-owned restaurants on the Las Vegas Strip, Emmitt’s Vegas represents both culinary excellence and cultural significance that continues Smith’s legacy of impact and leadership beyond the field.

In 2021, Smith made another history-making mark by becoming a co-owner of a NASCAR team and partnered with Jesse Iwuji Motorsports for the 2022 NASCAR Xfinity Series. Their partnership is driven by a shared mission to advance diversity, equity, and STEM education in motorsports for underserved communities. Through his charitable foundation, speaking engagements and business endeavors, Smith remains focused on uplifting others, especially youth.

Smith is based in Dallas and above all is a proud father to his five children.
