We at CPDA and along NACD and other associations are very concerned about the OSHA changes to the  Hazard Communication Standard Safety Data Sheet. A joint letter was sent to the U.S. Secretary Martin Walsh and Assistant Secretary of Labor Douglas Parker that raised concerns about the changes to the HCS SDS.

Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s (OSHA) Hazard Communication Standard (HCS) notice of proposed rule-making to require Section 2 of the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) to include any hazards associated with a change in the chemical’s physical form under normal conditions of use and identification of hazards that result from a chemical reaction which could result from tank mixing of products including multiple herbicides and adjuvants.

Any chemical that can be mixed with a wide range of other chemicals could have an exponentially long and unknown list of hazards that could “result from a chemical reaction”. To view the full letter  CLICK HERE
