KEY POINTS:
- CPDA commends the Commission for recognizing the strength of EPA’s science-based regulatory process that ensures safety and integrity.
- CPDA is committed, alongside farmers, to providing Americans with healthy, affordable, and abundant food through access to proven tools and technologies.
ARLINGTON, VA – The Council of Producers and Distributors of Agrotechnology (CPDA) today issued the following statement in response to the release of the Make America Healthy Again (MAHA) Commission strategy report.
CPDA shares the President’s and the Commission’s goal of improving the health of all Americans, especially children. We appreciate that the strategy affirms the integrity of the Environmental Protection Agency’s science-based review process, which ensures crop protection products are safe and effective.
“We thank the Commission and the Administration for engaging farmers, scientists, and agriculture experts in this process,” said CPDA President and CEO Terry Kippley. “It is essential that all of agriculture has a voice in shaping strategies that affect the food supply and the health of our nation. Farmers also need continued access to proven tools to produce a safe, abundant, and affordable food supply. Sound science and a predictable regulatory system are the foundation for ensuring that American families continue to have healthy, wholesome food on their tables.”
The strategy’s emphasis on research, innovation, and precision agriculture aligns with CPDA members’ work to help farmers get the most out of their crop protection tools. Products such as adjuvants improve performance, reduce waste, and support sustainability.
As the Commission’s work moves forward, CPDA will remain engaged to ensure future recommendations strengthen public health while protecting farmer access to the tools and technologies needed for sustainable production and food security.
