CropLife Retail Week: CPDA Meeting Report
Catch a great recap about the ESA “Getting Down and Dirty” panel moderated by Lara L. Sowinski of CropLife at CPDA’s Adjuvants, Inerts & Crop Protection Conference last week in Cape Coral, FL. Getting down and dirty was a spot-on title as farmers will have to do both in order to comply as ESA-imposed label restrictions will be confusing as to what they can and cannot do. EPA’s goal is to protect listed species through the use of no-spray buffers near critical habitat. To reduce the size of these buffers, growers will have a wide range of mitigation options, but some of them are impractical and expensive. One thing is clear, Drift Reduction Adjuvants will play a starring role as a mitigation tool as they will be a farmers’ “easy button” to reduce the size of buffers.
