A CPDA opinion piece argues that U.S. leadership in agriculture is the result of deliberate investment in farmers, innovation, and science-based policies—not chance. It warns that this advantage is at risk due to underfunding and strain on the EPA’s pesticide regulatory system, which is causing delays and uncertainty for agricultural businesses.
Maintaining productivity, food affordability, and supply chain resilience requires stronger funding, regulatory predictability, and continued support for domestic manufacturing and research. Without these, the U.S. could gradually lose its agricultural leadership and competitiveness.
