Farm Bill
While Congress could still pass a new Farm Bill this fall, that likelihood diminishes by the day. CPDA will continue its work on a new Farm Bill with the following provisions:
- Adjuvant Incentive: An adjuvant incentive in the Conservation Title to encourage farmers to include adjuvants in their NRCS approved conservations plans.
- Adjuvant Education: Congress should specifically earmark funds to establish regional pilot programs designed to educate and train growers and applicators on proper adjuvant use.
- Adjuvant Centers of Excellence: Federal research dollars should be targeted to allow Land Grant Universities to restart their adjuvant research programs and to establish “Pesticide Centers of Application Excellence” throughout the U.S.
- Increased Technical Service Provider Access Act: This would allow non-federal entities to qualify as NRCS Technical Service Providers (TSPs) that can work on behalf of farmers to offer planning and design services that implement NRCS conservation programs. This assistance helps improve the producer’s operation and addresses resource concerns on their land.
